Founder Ron Paul opens the very first Dion's location on Menaul Blvd, Albuquerque. The dion's pizza recipe is born — thick-crust, hand-tossed, topped with fresh house-made sauce and quality ingredients that would define the brand.
Demand outpaces the original location. A second dions restaurant opens in Northeast Albuquerque, bringing the beloved dion's pizza and fresh subs to even more New Mexico families. The community response is overwhelming.
Building on the success of dion's pizza, the kitchen team debuts the fresh sub and salad menu — handcrafted sandwiches with deli-quality meats and crisp vegetables. A new chapter for the dions brand begins.
